Sizing Guide
Sizing Guide
Finding the right size is one of the most important parts of ordering jewelry online. We've put together this guide to make the process as simple as possible. If you're ever unsure, please don't hesitate to write to us at info@spratlingsilver.mx — we'd rather take a moment to help you get it right than have you receive a piece that doesn't fit perfectly.
A note on our pieces: because every Spratling Silver item is handcrafted to order, we can often accommodate sizing requests that fall outside our standard range. Just ask.
Ring Sizes
How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
The most reliable way to measure at home is the string or paper strip method:
- Cut a thin strip of paper (about 1cm wide) or use a piece of non-stretchy string or dental floss.
- Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you intend to wear the ring on. It should be comfortable — not tight, not loose.
- Mark where the paper or string overlaps with a pen.
- Lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimeters. This is your finger circumference.
- Use the table below to find your size.
Tips for an accurate measurement:
- Measure at the end of the day — fingers are slightly larger in the evening and in warm weather. This gives you the most comfortable fit.
- If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between.
- If you are between two sizes, size up.
- Wider bands (over 6mm) fit more snugly than narrow ones. If you're ordering a wide-band ring, consider going up half a size.
- Cold hands can make fingers appear smaller — warm your hands before measuring.

Bracelet Sizes
How to Measure Your Wrist
You'll need a flexible measuring tape or, if you don't have one, a strip of paper and a ruler.
- Wrap the measuring tape (or paper strip) around your wrist, just below the wrist bone — the same place you'd wear a bracelet.
- Note the measurement in centimeters where the tape meets itself. This is your wrist circumference.
- Add 1–2cm to your wrist measurement to find your ideal bracelet length:
- Add 1cm for a snug, close-fitting bracelet
- Add 1.5cm for a comfortable everyday fit
- Add 2cm for a relaxed, slightly loose fit
- Use the chart below to select your bracelet length.
Bracelet Size Chart
| Wrist Circumference | Recommended Bracelet Length | Fit Description |
|---|---|---|
| 12–13 cm | 13–14 cm | Very small wrist, close fit |
| 13–14 cm | 14–15 cm | Small wrist, comfortable fit |
| 14–15 cm | 15–16 cm | Small-medium wrist |
| 15–16 cm | 16–17 cm | Medium wrist, comfortable fit |
| 16–17 cm | 17–18 cm | Medium wrist, relaxed fit |
| 17–18 cm | 18–19 cm | Medium-large wrist |
| 18–19 cm | 19–20 cm | Large wrist, comfortable fit |
| 19–20 cm | 20–21 cm | Large wrist, relaxed fit |
| 20–21 cm | 21–22 cm | Extra-large wrist |
Our bracelets are available in lengths from 13cm to 22cm. If your wrist falls outside this range, please contact us — we can often accommodate custom lengths.
A note on bangle-style bracelets: Rigid bangles are sized differently from chain or link bracelets. For bangles, the relevant measurement is the widest part of your hand when your fingers are pressed together (as if you're sliding the bangle over your hand). We'll note in the product listing if a piece is a bangle and provide specific guidance.
Necklace Lengths
How to Choose Your Length
Necklace length is a matter of personal style, neckline, and the piece itself. The guide below describes how each length typically sits on the body. Keep in mind that these are approximate — the exact position will vary depending on your height and build.
To measure a necklace you already own and love, lay it flat and measure from end to end (clasp to clasp). This gives you the total length.
| Length | Name | Where It Sits | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 cm (12") | Choker | Snugly at the base of the neck | High necklines, statement pieces, layering as the shortest strand |
| 35 cm (14") | Short | Just below the collarbone | Crew necks, boat necks, delicate pendants |
| 40 cm (16") | Princess | At or just above the collarbone | V-necks, scoop necks, everyday wear — a classic, versatile length |
| 45 cm (18") | Princess (long) | Just below the collarbone | The most popular length — works with almost any neckline and pendant size |
| 50 cm (20") | Matinee | Between the collarbone and bust | Business wear, medium to large pendants, open necklines |
| 55 cm (22") | Matinee (long) | At the top of the bust | Layering, longer pendants, casual and bohemian styles |
| 60 cm (24") | Opera | Below the bust | Formal wear, dramatic pendants, can be doubled for a layered look |
| 65–90 cm (26–36") | Extra Long / Rope | At or below the navel | Available by request — contact us for a quote |
Choosing the Right Length for You
Most versatile: 40–50cm (16–20"). If you're unsure, this range works beautifully with the widest variety of necklines and pendant styles. The majority of our customers find that 45cm is their go-to length.
For layering: Choose necklaces that differ by at least 5–10cm so each strand is clearly visible. A classic combination might be 35cm + 45cm + 55cm.
For pendants: Consider the size and weight of the pendant. A large, bold Spratling pendant often looks best at 45–50cm, where it has room to be the focal point. Smaller, more delicate pendants can work beautifully at 35–40cm.
For taller wearers: You may find that lengths sit slightly lower on you than described above. Consider going 5cm longer than the chart suggests for the same visual effect.
If you'd like a recommendation for a specific piece, just ask. We know our designs well and are happy to suggest the length that will show it at its best.
