Shipping Policy
Every piece in the Spratling Silver collection is handcrafted to order by our silversmiths in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico — the same workshop William Spratling established in 1931. Because your piece does not exist until you order it, please read the following carefully so you know exactly what to expect from the moment you place your order to the moment it arrives at your door.
Handcrafted to Order
All Spratling Silver jewelry is made by hand in .950 sterling silver (a higher purity than the industry-standard .925), and our flatware and tableware in .925 sterling silver. This is not a warehouse operation. Your piece is hand-formed, finished, and quality-inspected by skilled artisans who have dedicated their craft to this tradition.
Because of this, production time is typically approximately 45 days from the date your order is confirmed and payment is received. Larger or more complex pieces — such as furniture, full tea services, or oversized tableware — may require additional time. If your order falls into this category, we will contact you directly with an updated timeline.
Production Updates
We believe you should feel connected to the making of your piece. Throughout the production process, we will send you email updates so you know where your order stands. You are always welcome to reach out to us at info@spratlingsilver.mx with any questions.
Shipping Rates
Once your piece is complete, it is carefully packaged and shipped via DHL or FedEx International — fully insured and with tracking provided. Flat-rate shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on your destination:
- Mexico: $20 USD
- United States & Canada: $45 USD
- Europe: $65 USD
- Rest of World: $85 USD
Free shipping is included on all orders over $2,000 USD, regardless of destination.
Insurance & Tracking
Every shipment is fully insured for its declared value and includes a tracking number sent to you by email as soon as your package is dispatched. We take the safe arrival of your piece as seriously as its creation.
Signature Required
A signature is required upon delivery for all Spratling Silver shipments. This protects your investment and ensures your piece reaches you — and only you — safely. Please ensure someone is available to receive the package at your delivery address, or arrange an alternative delivery option with the carrier using your tracking number.
Customs, Duties & Import Taxes
Spratling Silver ships from Mexico. International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees levied by your country's customs authority. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our shipping rates. We are unable to predict or control these fees, as they vary by country and order value. We recommend checking with your local customs office if you have questions before placing your order.
We declare the full and accurate value of all shipments on customs documentation. We are unable to mark packages as gifts or undervalue shipments.
Delivery Timeframes
Once shipped, transit times are typically:
- Mexico: 2–5 business days
- United States & Canada: 3–7 business days
- Europe: 5–10 business days
- Rest of World: 7–14 business days
These are estimates provided by the carrier and may vary due to customs processing, local conditions, or other factors outside our control.
